About

The Work

We Invest In Female Entrepreneurs

.. in their businesses:

with Economic Development Grants.

We provide unrestricted cash grants to communities of female entrepreneurs to help create income-generating businesses.

An unrestricted cash grant is a financial instrument, like a traditional loan, that does not need to be repaid.

.. in their skills develoment:

with Vocational and Skills Trainings

We empower our Field Partners to seek out and hire local experts to lead communities through relevant trainings to increase their business skills and knowledge.

.. in their families:

with a Student Scholarship Program

A network of recurring monthly donors enable us to sponsor student scholarships that cover the costs to attend either Primary or Secondary School. Once a student is enrolled into our program, they are guaranteed that scholarship for as long as they continue their studies – bringing the dropout rate (due to challenges imposed by school fees) down to 0%.

.. in their communities:

with Disaster Relief

Every human life is equally precious. During times of pandemic or disaster, our connection to our Partner Communities enables us to provide direct relief grants to purchase necessary supplies, including food and other necessities.

And we never divest.

When we make a grant, every dollar of it stays in the recipient community, so village leaders like Mama Kawesa (above) can focus solely on helping their community thrive, without being followed by the risk and debt it takes to start a successful enterprise.

Since 2017, we've invested $146,294 into 4 Ugandan communities, and we've drawn $0 back out

The Motivation

We believe in people's natural-born Right to Self-Determination.

Since 1990, more than 1.1 billion people across the world have lifted themselves out of extreme poverty.

Throughout world history, whenever people have been able to leverage their natural skills and talents to creatively solve their own problems, and have had ample and fair access to resources, prosperity has closely followed.

No prosperous country has ever developed on material aid alone, and no number of wells, books, or access to free shoes or clothing can replace the profound effect of being able to create your own life and solve your own problems.

The Promise

We are committed to upholding actively Anti-Racist, Anti-Classist, and Anti-Colonialist ideals.

We recognize that we haven't always been right and we won't always be right, but we are committed to listening, learning, and continuing on our journey towards justice and liberation.

No discussion on endemic poverty is complete without acknowledging the role that Western nations and White people specifically have had in creating it and perpetuating it. After being subjugated in rapid succession by enslavers, Missionaries, colonizers, development consultants and multinational executives, the Developing World has scant had a moment to breathe without being overtly and covertly undermined and exploited.

We exist to play a supporting role ensuring that People are given their due power and fair access, and solemnly swear to do our part to ensure that these deliberately extractive and exploitative policies are made history.
